Covid Relief

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic a new need has arisen. The Guatemala government does not cover the cost of medical supplies and treatment, making a bad situation worse for the marginalized families of San Pedro La Laguna.

Donations of any amount are gratefully received. PLEASE SHARE THIS PAGE – our reach grows through word of mouth.

The Beca Project is a registered 501(c)(3) Public Charity (EIN 38-3821120) DONATIONS ARE TAX DEDUCTIBLE.

We are run entirely by volunteers in the US and Guatemala so 100% of your donation directly impacts the people of San Pedro La Laguna.

Feel free to contact me with questions, suggestions, and input regarding your donation. THANKS! Stacey Holeman, Beca Project founder

Here is an email from Dr. Eddy who has been providing testing and medical support in San Pedro for COVID19 in addition to other health issues. We’re including it here in the original Spanish, translation below. We are VERY GRATEFUL for the support of everyone who has donated to this important cause.

Muchas gracias y bendiciones.

On behalf of my team and our patients, I want to thank you very much for the donations of medical supplies and equipment that we receive each month. We are happy to help many people every day, people who would not otherwise be able to obtain the health services that we offer for free. We know our resources will be exhausted but we do the best with what we have. We send a hug and thanks to everyone who has helped us during this pandemic and of course that the equipment will be for the use of other patients with cancer, chronic diseases and others. And above all, they will be available to poor people for as long as you have assistance. Thank you very much and blessings.
